Thank you to all who prayed for the end of communism and totalitarian rule in Cuba.

Fidel Castro has announced that he will not be seeking another term as president of Cuba. Although it has been confirmed that his brother Raul will take his place, hope is still high that he will introduce more democratic processes.

Cuba has suffered economically since Castro took control, leaving much of the people of Cuba without jobs or food. Due to the pull out of support from Russia and the American embargo many of the county's supermarkets have empty shelves and beginning in the 1990's many have sought refuge by floating to Florida.
