Thank you to all who have prayed for the peaceful resolution of the religious attacks in India.
A Hindu mob stoned a Christian church known as “Heavenly Feast” in India earlier this month. Fear and anger against Christians and Christian Missionaries has been escalating despite the governments actions to stop it.
The Hindu group called “ SMBP” meets just meters away away from the tent erected to house the members of “Heavenly Feast”. They as well as other Hindu's have become alarmed at the massive amount of people who have converted to this Christian church and left their old religion behind. They also have tried to use the legal system to their advantage claiming that the Heavenly Feast church set up it's tent illegally. After filing a complaint they members of SMBP began harassing the parishioners trying to attend service and then later resorted to throwing rocks into the tent. Twenty-five people were injured and the police were forced to use rubber bullets to disband the crowd.
This type of intolerance is seen over and over again in the New Testament, as the apostles of Jesus begin to spread the Word. It is not something we expect from our modern world, but it is a continuing battle. Our prayers are our means of fighting this religious intolerance. Let us all continue to pray for the Way the Truth and the Light.
