Prayer request for all over the world will be answer with United in Prayers
Prayer request for August 24, 2008 PDF Print E-mail
Thank to all who have joined in the prayer request for a resolution of peace and diplomacy throughout the world.
As the 2008 Olympic games come to a close, an important lesson of peace and friendship among nations, religions, and races is at hand. The Olympics provides an atmosphere enabling all nationalities to put aside their differences and treat each other as just other human beings.
At its heart is an attempt to further the preference of peaceful resolutions to the various conflicts around the world. The Olympic Truce attempts to build upon the friendship, solidarity, and cooperation between nations that are at the heart of the true Olympic spirit.
Let us pray that with the ending of these games, a new beginning of tolerance and understanding will evolve, that national leaders will choose diplomacy instead of war as their method of action.

Poet Karla Dorman sums this message up in her “Olympic Prayer”:

Standing at the edge of greatness,
shining hope competes for medals;
the best and brightest of all youth ...
spanning chasms of prejudice
and misunderstanding created by those before them.

They are our future,
tender acornsthat we have planted in sport's name;
may they become tall,sturdy oaks,
branching the sky with hands bearing
the dove of peace and teach us all
the meaning of love.
